Call for abstracts is now open. Submissions close on Monday 17 March 2025.
We are excited to announce call for abstracts is now open for both Chemeca 2025 and Hazards Australasia.
The theme for Chemeca 2025 is Shape the future – starting now which explores the pivotal role of chemical engineering in advancing industrial progress, ensuring safety and sustainability and fostering innovation.
The 2025 Committee encourages presentations that explore the emerging opportunities and challenges facing chemical engineers and industrial chemists and discuss how we can work together to shape the future of our industry.

Presentations in both oral and poster format will be available for:
Research focused
Practitioner (industry) focused
Research submission
Research submissions should address advancements in technical research and development, investigation, industry trends and academia.
Practitioner (industry) submission
Submissions should demonstrate experience in industry-based good practices, lessons learnt, project work and latest developments and challenges facing chemical engineering from industry insiders.
Abstract submissions should not be a sales pitch for a product or service.

Call for abstracts is now open.
Please ensure that your abstract is submitted online through the submission portal by 17 March 2025 and that your abstract complies with the following criteria:
Select one theme that best relates to your abstract
Prepare your abstract using the Chemeca incorporating Hazards Australasia 2025 abstract template and upload as a PDF document.
Overall word count, excluding the scientific title, authors and affiliations must not exceed 400 words.
Abbreviations - full text on first mention followed by abbreviation of first parenthesis.
Key words are to be included at the conclusion of your abstract.
Ensure all authors and affiliations are included (maximum 6x authors).
Select your presentation preference (oral or poster). Please note that this is a preference only, the technical committee may not be able to accommodate all presentation preferences due to limited space in the final programme.
Submit the presenting author short 100x word biography (please note, this is separate to the abstract word count).
Upon successful submission of your abstract, the submitter will receive email confirmation.
You can edit your submitted abstract until the abstract submission deadline.
By submitting an Abstract/ Presentation authors agree to the general policies and requirements listed in the Abstract/ Presentation agreement.
The presenting author is required to register for the conference in order to ensure their presentation is included in the final programme.
Presenting authors who have not registered by the deadline, Friday 18 July 2025, will be removed from the program.
Register before Monday 30 June 2025 to take advantage of the early bird registration.
NOTE: Successful abstracts will be published via the online programme, therefore please pay close to attention to the spelling of your abstract.
