Plenary speaker: Leeanne Bond

Leanne Bond, Breakthrough Energy Pty Ltd

Leeanne Bond is a widely known and respected Board Advisor, Independent Non-Executive Company Director and Board Chair. Leeanne is focussed on energy transition and decarbonisation of our economy, infrastructure and project governance, innovation and entrepreneurship and workplace diversity and inclusion.

Leeanne is the newly appointed Chair of the Queensland Energy System Advisory Board (QESAB) and an independent non-executive director of Aurecon Limited, One Basin CRC Limited and The Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE).  She chairs the Minerals to Megawatts CRC Bid and is a director of her own consultancy, Breakthrough Energy Pty Ltd.

She has previously served on the boards of public, private and government entities including Snowy Hydro, Synertec, Mining3 and Clean Energy Finance Corporation. Leeanne served as the first female President of Engineers Australia in Queensland in 2002 and is a past Deputy Chair of the Board of Professional Engineers.

Leeanne has a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering and an MBA from The University of Queensland. Leeanne is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of Chief Executive Women. She is an Honorary Fellow of Engineers Australia and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering.
